Hope’s Harbor - Gritty Bible Devotions

This podcast exist to bring an understanding of Biblical truths in the context of everyday life circumstances. Using principles set forth in the Bible was one of Jesus’ intended means to impart the peace of GOD to hurting people.

He emphasized this in Matthew 7:24 & 25:

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”

This relates to a life safely kept on solid truth, because the storms of life are here or coming. And this is regardless of who we are. Who doesn’t need something firm to hold onto when life swirls and crumbles around us?

It’s important to reiterate this: the lessons drawn from Scripture focus on how applying Biblical principles can bring about positive change in our lives.

I’m not a pastor, rather a layperson sharing personal experiences from 40+ years of being a Christian. He survived suicidal depression years ago and wants to help others find comfort from GOD’s Word, as he did. The intent is to encourage others to also find hope from these Bible devotions. The goal of studying Bible truths is to help alleviate despair leading to depression.

One such truth is that GOD loves us, He loves you, equal to His Son, Jesus. His forgiveness once accepted and asked for, is complete. The challenge is living in light of this and other truths found throughout the Bible.

Each show ends with an Action to Consider to help listeners practice making changes to how they view life. This comes by giving a different lens through which to see, or understand, certain passages of Scripture and their application.
